Senate DFL Candidates Outraise Republicans, Again, in 2026

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Senate DFL Candidates are Meeting the Moment and Working Hard to Win for Minnesota

July 31, 2026

St. PAUL, MN. — Minnesota Senate DFL candidates reported an eye-popping $1,875,488.77 raised statewide in 2026, with $2,300,782.62 cash-on-hand. DFL candidates outraised their opponents by more than $785,000 and head into the election year with a cash-on-hand advantage over $691,000. This comes on the heels of the Senate DFL campaign raising more than any other legislative caucus in Minnesota and maintaining the largest cash-on-hard reserves.

In several of the most competitive districts, Senate DFLers outraised their opponents in a truly remarkable fashion:

  • SD 58 – Mark Legvold raised $60,020.26 to Sen. Bill Leiske’s $13,499.00
  • SD 37 – Kristy Janigo raised $76,164.78 to Brady Hoag’s $31,345.60
  • SD 35 – Angela Nelson raised $44,657.74 to Jim Abeler’s $9,964.90
  • SD 24 – Simon Glaser raised $39,379.93 to Nels Pierson’s $14,437.53
  • SD 03 – Senator Grant Hauschild raised $77,630.20 to Andrea Zupancich’s $33,118.22

“This team of Senate DFL candidates is remarkable, and their fundraising numbers are a clear metric of their capacity for success,” said Majority Leader Erin Murphy. “Minnesotans across the state are worried about their families and their futures. Senate DFLers across the state are showing up for people and their communities. This incredible investment in their campaign means they will be able to stay committed to their districts and fight hard for our values on the campaign trail. I’m confident the results on Election Day will speak to that commitment.”

“These reports speak for themselves. I want to be clear how much our team believes in these outstanding candidates who are all working hard in their districts connecting with Minnesotans,” said Campaign Chair Nick Frentz.
