First elected to the Senate in November 2012, John Hoffman represents residents of Minnesota Senate District 36, which includes the city of Champlin, and parts of Brooklyn Park, and Coon Rapids.
John has a proven track record of balancing public service leadership and small business management. He is dedicated to helping people find work, supporting education every step of the way, and being a voice for middle class families.
Prior to his successful Senate campaign, John served on various public boards, task forces, chambers, and councils. Most recently in 2005, he was elected to and served as Vice Chair on the Anoka Hennepin School Board--the largest school district in Minnesota.
John’s business experience is in both the private in public sector. He has co-founded two companies dedicated to consumer credit and financial management. Additionally, John is the Marketing Director and Public Relations Director for Ally People Solutions Inc., an organization committed to finding employment opportunities for adults with disabilities.
John, his wife, Yvette, and daughter, Hope, reside in Champlin, MN.
